I was inspired to clean out and semi-organize my closet after the 30/30.

I also learned to "shop" my closet and combine clothes in different ways. I laid out different outfits and  took pictures of all my "new" outfits so that I can look at these pics for inspiration on ho-hum mornings when I can't think of what to wear.

I was glad when it was over, but I'm glad we did it and want to do it again at some point. (Maybe winter)

Breaking the Rules

It seems odd not to take pictures of all my outfits now because I'm used to it. So I thought it might be time to post again. Maybe I'll even post on a semi-frequent basis. Maybe.

We've all been told not to mix brown and black or gold and silver (or maybe just me?). For years I just couldn't bring myself to wear a brown belt with black shoes or a gold and silver bracelet together. Today I'm branching out and doing all of the above. And I think I like it. Who knew breaking the rules could feel so good?

P.S. I just got my hair did!

30 in 30 Recap!

Looking back through these photos I seem to like more of my outfits now then when I wore them. And some I'm still not a huge fan of. All in all, though, I'm glad it's over. Would I do it again? Probably. Do I want to anytime soon. No. It's kind of like running a race. I can't wait until its over, but I'm always glad I did it.

Here are a few take-aways:

-Don't include items from your wardrobe you never wear. I thought this would be brilliant because it would force me to utilize these pieces. Instead, I just ended up hating those outfits the most (i.e. grey, ruffle cardigan).

-Give yourself a "wild card" item. I wish I had only included 29 items, so I could have added an item at any time in case of emergency.

-Include more cardigans/sweaters, less jackets. Cardigans and sweaters can be used for both casual and work outfits. Generally, I only wear jackets to work (unless they're casual in nature).

Overall, I did learn how to better utilize my wardrobe. And other blogs were my savior in terms of new ideas when my creative juices were running low.

And confession: I did buy clothing during the challenge, but I didn't wear any of it so it doesn't count! :)
